Payment

We strive to make the financial aspect of your eye care as transparent and straightforward as possible. Whether you are visiting us for a routine exam, purchasing new eyewear, or enrolling in a specialty program like Orthokeratology, the guidelines below outline how we handle payments and billing.

Accepted payment methods

We accept the following payment methods in-clinic:

  • Cash
  • Debit cards (Interac)
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • e-Transfer / Interac

Payment timing and insurance

Payment is required at the time of service for all charges not covered by insurance.

Some visits and assessments may be OHIP-billable, depending on your condition and whether you are OHIP-insured. If a service is not covered by OHIP for your specific situation (including if you are not OHIP-insured), there may be a fee.

Private insurance may cover a portion of your eye exam and/or purchases such as glasses or contact lenses. We try to direct bill insurance companies when possible, but benefits and billing are ultimately a relationship between the patient and the insurance provider.

We offer direct billing to over 30 insurance providers, including:

  • Sun Life
  • Manulife
  • Canada Life
  • Green Shield
  • Desjardins

If your insurance plan supports it, we will submit your claim on your behalf during your visit. Because insurance systems vary and coverage cannot always be confirmed in real-time, any portion of the fee not successfully processed through direct billing must be paid before you leave the clinic.

Specialty program fees: Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

Our Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) program fitting fee is:

  • Fitting fee: $1,500

This fitting fee includes all necessary appointments, training, and adjustments needed to optimise your fit.

Ortho-K lenses are billed separately.

For current Ortho-K wearers, refitting appointments are available. Please contact us for more information.

Eyewear and contact lenses

We provide a wide range of eyewear options, including standard, toric, multifocal, and specialty contact lenses such as scleral lenses.

When ordering custom lenses or specialty products, please be prepared to provide payment or confirm insurance coverage at the time the order is placed.

We provide detailed receipts for all purchases to support manual insurance claims and for your personal records.
